Latino Review ’s interview with an anonymous Marvel insider turned up some timeline and costume details for the upcoming adaptation of Thor , and the most recent interview with the nameless source revealed why Stuart Townsend abruptly departed the movie over “creative differences” after being cast as Fandral, a friend of Thor’s and part of the Warrior Three. It appears he wasn’t happy with the limited screen-time of his character Fandral. There was friction with him from the very beginning as far back as his screen test which he basically blew off.

Marvel may still be searching for the right actor to fill the red, white and blue uniform of the lead role in The First Avenger: Captain America , but they are one step closer to finding their villain. THR reports that Hugo Weaving is in negotiations to play the Red Skull, Captain America’s lifelong nemesis and Adolph Hitler ’s right-hand man. Mel Gibson’s Viking Movie May Be The Last He Directs

Mel Gibson has admitted that his next project will be directing an untitled movie about Vikings starring Leonardo DiCaprio , but the actor turned director told the LA Times that the movie may be his last .

According to Deadline , director David Fincher ( Fight Club ) is once again shopping around a new animated feature inspired by the 1981 movie Heavy Metal , now in 3-D. Like the original, Fincher’s adult-oriented movie will include a collection of science fiction and fantasy shorts by different directors, accompanied by a rock and roll-themed score. Fincher has been working on putting together a new Heavy Metal for at least two years now, initially setting up the project at Paramount.
